How can a boy who sold counterfeit goods on the streets of Athens to earn a living, coming from an illegal family, discriminated against for his origins and the color of his skin, to whom no one wanted to give citizenship, who shared a single pair of sports shoes with four brothers and who did not play sports until the age of 16, reach the Olympus of basketball?
Adetokunbo, his surname, is a word from the Yoruba language. Ade means crown, or king; Tokunbo is a child born in a country far from where his parents come from who returns to his place of origin: the union of the two terms roughly means "king born abroad who returns to his origins".
